The Indian government has made aadhar card as mandatory identity document for all Indians. This aadhar card is very useful for opening bank account, booking a train ticket, getting benefits from the government.
If you don't have an aadhar card, it is better to get a one. So that you can continue to enjoy the benefits from the Indian government. The first step to register for a new adhar card is to find an enrollment center. This guide will help you in searching for a center in your area.
Now frist select the state/union territory in which you are residing.
Then select your district/city.
Finally select your Locality/Area and click on the search button.
You will get a list of enrollment centers.
Some enrollment centers has a closing date and after that enrollment center wont be available for applying aadhar card. So better search for permanent centers. You can do so by checking the "only permanent centers".
Visit the nearest center and apply for an aadhar card.
If you don't find a center near to you, then your state might be under the National Population Register (NPR). If you are staying in NPR state, then you visit the census website of Indian government and then search for the enrollment center.
